Was one of your New Year's resolutions, "I gotta get out more!" or "This year, I'm going to try and save more money?" Here's your chance to get out and meet some fellow history buffs ... and steep yourself in local lore ... for free!
The Cuyahoga Falls Historical Society meets the second Wednesday of the month at 7 p.m. in the basement meeting rooms of the Cuyahoga Falls Library. For those of you who like to plan ahead, here's the line-up for the next few meetings.
For you Civil War buffs, the March 11, 2009 program will feature the history of the 29th Ohio Volunteer Infantry.
The topic for the April 8 meeting will be the Novelli Greenhouse and Flower Shop - Novelli's is located on Sackett Avenue, right around the corner from where I grew up.
May's program will feature a tour of historic graves at Oakwood Cemetery, as well as a short history on the Oakwood Chapel's 12 beautiful stained glass windows. Don't have all the details on that meeting yet ... will post more specifics as they become available.
CFHS meetings are free and open to the public. See you there!
